Metro Bus Feeder Services Bangalore

Bengaluru on Thursday, 30 Sep 2021 got its first electric bus that will be run as a feeder service at Namma Metro stations. After the extension of the metro line between Mysore Road and Kengeri, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has announced feeder bus service to some of the new metro stations inaugurated on Sunday. Starting Sep 06, 2021 Monday, BMTC started to operate 35 new buses on nine routes, from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. Around 499 trips will be done by the buses. The 7.5-km-long Western Extension Line under Phase-2 of Namma Metro from Mysore Road Metro Station to Kengeri Metro Stations will be open for the public from Sep 06, 2021 Monday.

With the extension of the Bengaluru Metro’s purple line set to be inaugurated on Sunday, August 29, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) announced that it will provide a feeder bus service to some of the new metro stations. The new service will include 35 new buses on nine routes and a total of 499 trips. The feeder buses will operate from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. According to the BMTC, there are different feeder service routes to various areas from the Kengeri Traffic and Transit Management Centre (TTMC) station. A total of 121 buses are deployed on 20 routes that go to the Uttarahalli area. A total of 266 busses operate on 45 routes to Kengeri Satellite Town, and 157 busses operate along 96 routes towards Kumbalagodu.

Metro Feeder (MF) Routes used to connect to Metro stations started operating after the launch of the 1st line of metro from MG Road to Baiyappanhalli. As of 1 March 2014, there are 16 metro stations in the network. There are 41 stations planned as a part of Phase I - Attiguppe, Baiyappanahalli, Banashankari, Central College, Chickpete, City Market, City Railway Station, Cubbon Park, Dasarahalli, Deepanjali Nagar, Halasuru, Hosahalli, Indiranagar, Jalahalli, Jayanagar, Jayaprakash Nagar, Krishna Rajendra Market, Kuvempu Road, Lalbagh, Magadi Road, Mahalakshmi Layout, Majestic, M.G. Road, Mysore Road, Nagasandra, National College, Peenya, Peenya Industry, Putenhalli, Rajajinagar, Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road, Sampige Road, Sandal Soap Factory, Sir M. Visveshwarya, Swami Vivekananda Road, South End Circle, Srirampura, Trinity, Vidhana Soudha, Vijayanagar, Yeshwantpur and Yeshwantpur Industry.



BMTC will start feeder buses from the Kengeri Traffic and Transit Management Centre (TTMC) station which is near to Kengeri Bus Terminal metro station. 121 buses are deployed on 20 routes towards the Uttarahalli area. 266 busses to operate on 45 routes to Kengeri Satellite Town, and 157 busses to operate along 96 routes towards Kumbalagodu.

The route length varies between 5km-18km and covers places like RR Gate, Ganakal, Ramasandra, Tavarekere, Raghuvanahalli, Bidadi and Talaghattapura. Feeder buses will cover areas like Halagevaderahalli, Channasandra, BEML Layout, RR Temple, Double Road, Shanmuga Temple, Concorde Layout, Mariyappanapalya, Sonnenahalli, Doddabasti, BUC quarters, Kommaghatta, Yelachaguppe, Kariyannapalya, KSIT, Kumbalgodu, Hejjala Cross, Kodipalya, Konasandra Cross, Gattigerepalya and Ganigarapalya.

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) and the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) collectively launched a common day pass called Metro Bus Transit Pass that can be used in both metro and BMTC buses from Oct 20, 2013 when commercial service on Reach 1 was launched. According to a BMTC source, the Metro Bus Transit one-day passes will be of two categories, Metro rail and non-AC BMTC buses which will cost Rs 70 and Metro rail and all BMTC services except Vayu Vajra costs Rs. 110. The passes will be printed in multi-colour with bar code.

Lalbagh Metro Station

Located prominently on the Green Line of Namma Metro, Lalbagh serves as a pivotal station, providing convenient access to the Basavanagudi region within Bangalore, India. Travelers utilizing Namma Metro and planning to attend the floral exhibition at Lalbagh from August 13 to 15 can opt for a return ticket priced at Rs 30. This ticket facilitates travel to any station along the line.

The first train of the day sets off at 05:34 AM, marking the beginning of the daily service, while the last train embarks on its journey at 11:34 PM from Baiyappanahalli, signifying the conclusion of the day's metro operations. The voyage between Baiyappanahalli and Lalbagh Botanical Garden spans approximately 13 kilometers, offering passengers the opportunity to traverse this distance. This route encompasses a total of 13 stations, effectively connecting Baiyappanahalli and the Lalbagh Botanical Garden metro station, bridging various points along the way.
